**History of the Faith Defenders Bible Study Group**

 

The Faith Defenders Bible Study Group started on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, by Deacon Everton Scott under the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Driven by passion for Souls, Biblical Study and Spiritual growth, a WhatsApp group was initiate with (04) members - Deacon Everton Scott, Sis Ava Scott, Bro Immanuel Scott, and Sis Christine Wildman.

Not long after the group started, we were joined by Sis Lyria Williamson and since then, we have grown exponential spiritually and numerically.   We convened on Saturdays at 8pm to 9pm weekly to win souls, explore the Scriptures, deepen our faith, and support one another in our spiritual journeys.

From its humble beginnings with just four members, the group quickly gained momentum through word of mouth and a growing online presence. In its first few months, the platform attracted over 72 visitors—many of whom have attended sessions repeatedly, participating regularly in Bible study and prayer.  

In early 2025, the Faith Defenders Bible Study Group expanded its outreach and impact through a partnership with **Prayer Portals to Heaven Ministry International**, led by Sis Camille Peart-Shand. This collaboration has allowed the group to broaden its initiatives, host joint prayer sessions, and provide members with additional spiritual resources. The partnership has also facilitated joint effort soul winning strengthening the group's mission to defend and promote the Christian faith.

The leadership of the Faith Defenders Bible Study Group is composed of seven (07) committed individuals who oversee its operations, spiritual direction, and outreach. The leadership team includes:

- **Sis Camille Peart-Shand** – Assistant Coordinator, Presenter

- **Sis Allison Legister** – Technical Support and Assistant Coordinator

- **Sis Linnett Legister** – Prayer                                                 

- **Sis Thelma Scott** – Spiritual Advisor

- **Sis Mercella Grant** – Presenter

 

This diverse leadership team works tirelessly to ensure the group's activities are spiritually enriching, well-organized, and accessible to all members and visitors. Weekly Bible study sessions are held online, focusing on various themes such as faith, salvation, prayer, and Christian living.  

Over time, the Faith Defenders Bible Study Group has grown tremendously. Members has grown in faith and prayer life, to defend their beliefs with love and conviction. The group’s motto is "Standing Firm in Faith, Defending the Gospel," reflecting its commitment to biblical truth and active evangelism.

 

Looking ahead, the group plans to continue expanding its outreach, increase member engagement, and deepen its spiritual impact through new initiatives such as mentorship programs, youth Bible studies, and joint retreats. The group remains dedicated to its core mission of defending and upholding God's Word while nurturing a loving, supportive spiritual family.
